  Termocouple is manufactured by connection both ends of two dissimilar metal wires, and when themperature difference occurs on the contacts on these two ends, thermal electro motive force occurs in this closed-circuit and electric current flows on this circuit. The size and the polarity of this electro motive force are determined by the temperature on both ends and the combination of the two metal wires, and are not affected by the thickness or the length of the metal wire. As the electro motive force can be pre-read according th the temperature of specific thermocouple, temperature can be measured. Thermocouple not only requires selection of appropriate wires according to the temperature measurement range, situation of the measuring places, and the required accuracy, but also requires the maintaining of same performance even when it is used for a long period of thime. The thermocouple is composed of thermocouple wires, protection tubes, terminal heads, insulators,and other required components.

1.Thermocouple wires
Types of thermocouple wires include page48. The wire ends are welded th create the temperature checking contacts.
2.Protection tubes

This protection tube protects the thermocouple wires and insulators from surrounding conditions, to which components and terminal head are connected. As the conditions of the protection tube vary considerably according to the temperature checking places, it is necessary to select materials and shapes which the operating temperature, atmosphere and the purpose of use.
3.Terminal head and terminal plate
This terminal head is used to connect the compensating cable and the terminal head. It is necessary to select terminal heads of various material quality and shapes to suit the purpose of use, in addition to the Head Type(aluminium diecast).
4.Insulators
This insulators used to insulate between the thermocouple wires and between protection tubes to prevent short-circuit, use high-purity aluminium or insulators.
5.Mounting attachment
The mounting attachment is installed on the protection tube to mount the thermocouple to the measuring part. For more details, refer to parts catalog.
